Orthoptist or Ophthalmic assistant

MBL Eye Surgeons is a progressive and busy ophthamology practice with clinics in Lismore and Ballina.

We are seeking an Orthopist or Ophthalmic Assistant for our multidisciplinary clinics.  Specialities include Retinal, Oculoplastics and General Ophthamology.

The position will suit a candidate who has the ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize accordingly, excellent time management skills, good interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn additional skills and a strong commitment to patient care.

For an Orthoptist duties include:

• visual acuity testing and applanation tonometry
• OCT imaging and retinal photography including FFA
• operation of automated perimetry, corneal topography, optical biometry and surgical planning machinery
• preparing and coordinating surgery lists
• maintaining up to date knowledge of techniques and technology
• recording and maintaining information accurately in written and electronic form

For an Ophthalmic Assistant duties include:

• visual acuity testing
• OCT imaging and retinal photography
• assisting with minor procedures
• recording and maintaining information accurately in printed and electronic form
