| Job Description | Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 1 Orthoptist to join our Orthoptics Department, Ophthalmology Unit Details of position/position requirements We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Grade 1 Orthoptist to join our team of 2 orthoptists and 11 ophthalmologists. The role is offered as a permanent part-time position for the following days/sessions- 3 in 4 Monday AM, weekly Monday PM and weekly Thursday PM. The sessions require the successful applicant to perform in our Retinal Photography, Perimetry, Oculoplastic and General Eye Clinics. To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include: * Excellent communication skills, patient care and competency in clinical skills. * Team player who can work efficiently under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment. * Able to work well in a team and autonomously. * Competency with the following clinical skills and applications: * Visual Field examination using Humphrey visual field analyser * OCT assessment and interpretation ( Heidelberg Spectralis) * Retinal Photography ( Zeiss, Optos UWF Camera) * Biometry ( IOL Master, Tomey U/S) * General eye clinic assessments, including ocular and medical history taking, orthoptic/ocular motility assessments, slit lamp gross examination, subjective refraction, IOP assessment and Pachymetry. * Some administrative duties (assisting with clinical audits and attendance to surgical audits) Work with us!
