Locum Maternity Position

We are seeking an articulate and personable Orthoptist, to work full time in our busy ophthalmology practice at the Pacific Square Centre in Maroubra.

We, at the Eastern Eye Centre, offer a comprehensive eye care service with a smile. We focus on providing top quality clinical service while maintaining a friendly and caring environment. As one of a team of four orthoptists, you will play a pivotal role in supporting seven ophthalmic surgeons and meeting the clinical expectations of our patients.

Our practice offers a wide range of sub speciality services including Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Squint Surgery, Diabetic Eye Disease, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, & General Ophthalmology.

The role is a maternity Locum position however, the diversity and nature of our practice offers a real opportunity to expand your clinical skills as an orthoptist.

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of ophthalmic services provided to adults and children. Duties include: screening of vision, IOP measurements, visual fields, OCT, angiography, immersion/contact A-Scans, IOL Master, refractions, assisting with intravitreal injections and minor surgery and post-operative care. You will need to be well presented and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of our team.

Applicants will need to have completed B. App. Sc (orthoptics)/Master of Orthoptics or equivalent.
