We are an established, fast paced multidisciplinary ophthalmology practice providing the highest quality eye care with locations in Hurstville, Miranda and Bondi Junction and are located near public transport.

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, professional Orthoptist or Ophthalmic tech who is passionate and strives to exceed expectations.
We are seeking a full time orthoptist; this position will ideally be based in Bondi Junction with travel to both Hurstville and Miranda clinics.

The successful applicant must possess outstanding customer service skills and be a reliable and a highly organised individual who is able to work efficiently on their own and also within a team environment.

Reporting to the Head orthoptist, we are looking for someone to join our highly efficient team and the purpose of our orthoptists are to make the patient feel comfortable while delivering the highest level of care and supporting the doctors to deliver outstanding and exceptional service.

Our areas of specialties at Sydney Eye Surgeons include:
• Corneal
• Retinal
• Oculoplastic
• Glaucoma
• Neuro-ophthalmology
• Paediatrics
• Cataract
• General Ophthalmology

Some of the duties include:
• General work ups
• Pre and Post-operative care
• Refractive work ups
• Some paediatric work ups
• Assisting with inrooms minor surgical operations
• Phone triaging
• Surgical lens size calculations and assistance with selection
• Assistance with overview of surgical lists
• Graft and device ordering for surgical cases
• Liaising with theatre staff regrading surgical lists and needs
• Liaising with admin staff to book appointments and surgical procedures
• Managing and maintaining patient records
• General ancillary testing including
o HVF
o Heidelburg OCT
o Pentacam
o Visucam
o OPTOS
o IOL Master
o Manual A-scans

• Highly organised
• Reliable and punctual with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Committed to delivering a high standard of customer service
• Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality
• Well presented at all times
• Possess a high level of personal and professional integrity
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken with a professional phone manner
• Excellent computer skills

Desirable Criteria
• Previous clinical experience in orthoptics / ophthalmology clinical setting
• Experience with medical software program Healthtrack

Salary is commensurate with experience.
