Orthoptist/Optometrist

CQ Eye, a busy private Ophthalmology clinic in sunny Central Queensland is seeking an Orthoptist/Optometrist to join our team of six other clinical assistants, including a senior and highly experienced orthoptist. This is a great opportunity to focus on your diagnosis and management skills of a range of ocular conditions.

Applicants will work alongside other clinical staff and directly with our ophthalmologists, as well as a number of administrative staff, so there is plenty of support.

Those with a keen interest in a variety of conditions and areas within ophthalmology will suit the role on offer perfectly.

Clinical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Initial and follow up assessment of general ophthalmic conditions (eg cataract, glaucoma, diabetes) requiring visual acuity, applanation tonometry, fundus examination and other testing as indicated
• Orthoptic assessment of strabismus patients
• Fundus fluorescein angiography
• Disc photography and anterior segment photography
• OCT, Pentacam, Keratograph and IOL Master
• Assisting in minor procedures
• Please Note: Visual Field Testing IS NOT a required task

Ongoing training provided and conference leave included.

Attractive, negotiable well above ‘expected’ salary levels available, dependent on skill level.
