Experienced Orthoptist

We are a modern two doctor Ophthalmic Practice.  We are seeking to employ an Orthoptist for clinical and surgical support within the practice.  The practice is focused on care of patients with cataract, corneal, refractive and retinal conditions as well as general adult Ophthalmic conditions.  We require an enthusiastic, motivated and efficient individual with good communication skills who strives to provide a great patient experience in the practice.

*Potential to increase to a full time role for a suitable applicant.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

Initial meeting with patient and recording of patient history and medications

Visual acuity assessment

Pupil examination

Intraocular pressure measurement

Auto/Refraction as necessary

Subjective Refraction

Automated visual fields, ocular biometry, Pentacam, OCT examinations, other Ophthalmic diagnostic tests as necessary

Preparing patients with eyedrops and test results as necessary prior to review by the treating Ophthalmologists

Assistance with provision of intravitreal injections, minor oculoplastic procedures, fluorescein angiograms, corneal cross linking and laser procedures as necessary.

Assistance with clinical and surgical audit of practice patients

Keeping up to date with new techniques and development

Providing information to patients about diagnoses and required treatment

Duties maybe be required at one or more of the Adelaide Eye Surgeons practice locations
