Orthoptist

An exciting opportunity exists for an Orthoptist to join our busy General and Cataract based ophthalmology practice at Epworth Geelong. Initially 1-2 sessions per week (Mondays, Thursdays), with potential for more sessions in the future.

The successful applicant would ideally have excellent communication skills and patient rapport, confidence in their orthoptic skills, and an understanding of Genie medical software. A tertiary qualification is preferred.

The role includes:

– General preliminary work up of patients including history taking, visual acuity, refraction, IOP measurements, ocular motility, and pupil assessments.
– OCT imaging
– Humphrey Visual Field testing
– Biometry (Zeiss IOL Master 700 Ascan and Pentacam)

The role has full administrative support and you will not be required to perform other roles (ie: no requirement for medical typing, office cleaning, or ordering of stock).
