Technical Support Officer

Gelflex is Australia’s leading custom contact lens manufacturer that prides itself on the support provided to Optometrists throughout Australia and overseas.

We are seeking to strengthen our technical support team and are looking for a mature person preferably with basic optical experience to join us in our new Melbourne office located in Clyde North.

This is a unique and exciting, long term career opportunity for someone with interest in contact lens fitting. You will be part of an experienced team committed to growing custom contact lens fitting in Australia.

Role Involves

·         Use of topography software to evaluate contact lens options, particularly for keratoconic, post-graft and ortho-k patients

·         Analysis of clinical notes, OCT, photos and videos

·         Provide advice to optometrists over the phone and via email regarding contact lens fittings

·         Participation in new product development and evaluation

Desired Skills

·         Some knowledge of contact lens fitting would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided

·         Good communication skills

·         Strong analytical and numerical skills

·         Customer service focused

·         Professional approach

·         Willingness to work as part of a team

There will be some administrative work associated with the role, so computer skills are a requirement.

Hours will be 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays, days can be negotiated if needed.
