Orthoptic Position
A fantastic opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Orthoptist to join a busy progressive up-market regional practice. The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of 6 Orthoptists, 3 General Ophthalmologists,2 Retinal Specialist and a Paediatric Ophthalmologist. The position would suit a new graduate or an experienced Orthoptist.

The Orthoptist will be exposed to a wide variety of eye conditions.

Orthoptic duties will include:

·         Computerized Clinical note taking

·         Vision / Refraction assessment

·         Squint / Ocular Motility assessment

·         OCT

·         Biometry

·         Visual fields

·         Corneal Topography

·         Retinal Photography (colour fundus photos and angiography)

·         Patient Counseling

·         Participation in clinical research trials

Orthoptic working conditions will include:

·         12 month Maternity position

·         32 hours week but open to negotiation

·         Funded educational opportunities (i.e. conferences)

·         Flexibility for some negotiation of conditions / wages

The successful applicant should have good communication skills, be keen to learn and have a strong team and work ethic. It is essential that applicants are comfortable and conversant with computer systems as all Clinical records and diagnostic resources are fully integrated.

Aim to Start Early in 2022.
