Orthoptist

A great opportunity exists for an orthoptist to join our busy and growing ophthalmology practice in Newtown. The position is full time, and would be ideal for a new graduate.

The position involves:

– Vision assessment
– History taking
– Visual fields
– OCT
– OPTOS
– Biometry
– Topography
– Pachymetry
– Pentacam
– Fundus photography
– Assisting with minor ops and intravitreal injections
– Refractive consultations
– Reception duties
– Surgery paperwork
– General administration

Working within a small, friendly team of six leading ophthalmologists and four orthoptists, your role will involve assisting ophthalmologists who specialize in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, cornea, medical retina and general ophthalmology. Our patient base is extremely varied with exposure to a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. In our practice you will spend time with the doctor one on one who encourages staff development and interactive management with the patients. You will be involved in patient education and therapy advice. We are a happy office where everyone gets on and there are no office politics.

The role is 50/50 orthoptics and administration, depending on the needs of the practice. You will be fully trained in all aspects.
