Orthoptist / Ophthalmic Technician / Enrolled Nurse

Coastal Eye Centre is a Specialist Ophthalmic Practice situated on the Sunshine Coast.  We have 3 Ophthalmologists with sub-specialties in Retina, Cataract, Neuro-ophthalmology, Glaucoma and General Ophthalmology.

If you are looking for a change to the sunny state of Queensland, we are only a 1 hour drive north of Brisbane and are offering a full time position to add to our orthoptic team.  If you like variety and the chance for development, we are currently seeking a highly motivated Orthoptist/Ophthalmic Technician/Ophthalmic Nurse to take on a challenging and high paced role.

This role is suitable for Orthoptists, biomedical science and nursing backgrounds, however must have proven experience in an Ophthalmology setting.

You will be working with highly regarded Ophthalmologists and will gain excellent training that will be invaluable to your growing career.  You will have the chance to be involved in a wide range of neuro-ophthalmic disorders and retinal case studies.

Roles and responsibilities:

To set up and assist the Ophthalmologist in all aspects of patient care to enable efficient and effective patient management.
Consultation with the patient to carry out screening tests, medical history and assisting the Ophthalmologist with minor procedures.
Ability to be able to answer patient and staff queries under supervision of the Ophthalmologist.
Research capabilities and maintaining medical stock supplies.
Surgical counselling and administrative duties involved in organising operating lists.

The successful applicant will have:

A minimum of 12 months experience in an Ophthalmology practice.

A high level of customer service
Reliable, efficient and able to work under pressure.
Experience working in an Ophthalmic practice will be an advantage.
