Orthoptist

Port Macquarie Eye Centre is seeking a full time orthoptist to join our team of six ophthalmologists, three orthoptists, two ophthalmic nurses and five clinical assistants.

Our facility covers a variety of sub specialties (including glaucoma, strabismus and vitreoretinal), as well as all aspects of general ophthalmology. We see a very wide variety of pathology, and no two days are ever the same!

Responsibilities are as follows:

Preliminary patient work up.
Ocular motility assessment.
Diagnostic testing and imaging including:
– Biometry (Lenstar and immersion)
– Humphrey visual field
– OCT
– Corneal topography
– Anterior segment photography
– Angiography

Managing operating lists and IOL calculations.

The successful applicant will possess strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. We require excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on team work. The applicant must have a tertiary qualification in Orthoptics. Experienced orthoptists or new graduates are welcome to apply.

Port Macquarie is a four hour drive or 45 minute flight from Sydney. The area enjoys a temperate climate and a beautiful coast line.

A contribution to relocation costs could be negotiated for an experienced applicant.
