Orthoptist – Full-time locum position Mon, Wed, Thurs, Friday 38 hours 4 Days

and a Part time Locum position 1-3 days weekly

We are seeking 2 articulate and personable Orthoptists, to work full time and part-time in our busy ophthalmology practice at the Pacific Square Centre in Maroubra.

We, at the Eastern Eye Centre, offer a comprehensive eye care service with a smile. We focus on providing top quality clinical service while maintaining a friendly and caring environment. As one of a team of six orthoptists, the successful candidates will play a pivotal role in supporting six ophthalmic surgeons and meeting the clinical expectations of our patients.

Our practice offers a wide range of sub speciality services including Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Squint Surgery, Diabetic Eye Disease, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, & General Ophthalmology.

These roles are maternity leave Locum positions however, the diversity and nature of our practice offers a real opportunity to expand your clinical skills as an orthoptist with the possibility of extending your contract beyond October 2023.

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of ophthalmic services provided to adults and children. Duties include: screening of vision, IOP measurements, visual fields, OCT, angiography, immersion/contact A-Scans, IOL Master, refractions, assisting with intravitreal injections and minor surgery and post-operative care. You will need to be well presented and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of our team.

Applicants will need to have completed B. App. Sc (orthoptics)/Master of Orthoptics or equivalent.

New graduates are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided if required.
