Orthoptist

We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated orthoptist to join our fast paced clinic on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. This position is offered as permanent full-time or part-time (4 days).

Our clinic is made of 11 sub-specialist Ophthalmologists that provide services for general ophthalmology, cataracts, medical retina, glaucoma, paediatrics, ocular motility, oculoplastics and corneal conditions.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Preliminary work-up and orthoptic assessments
– Triage referrals
– Perform ocular diagnostic tests: Visual Fields, OCT, widefield fundus photography (OPTOS), biometry (IOL Master 700 and pentacam)
– Ocular motility and paediatric vision assessments
– Assist in minor procedures, injections, etc
– Other admin duties: assist with patient reception, appointment bookings, phone calls, finalise accounts, etc

Requirements:

– A tertiary degree in Orthoptist or close to completion of the orthoptic course.
– Excellent communication skills, customer service and patient care
– Strong organisational and time management skills
– Punctuality, reliability and competency in clinical skills
– Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy clinic
– Ability to work well in a team and autonomously
