Orthoptist

Port Macquarie Eye Centre is seeking a full-time orthoptist to join our team of seven ophthalmologists, orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses and clinical assistants.

Our facility covers a variety of sub specialties (including glaucoma, strabismus and vitreoretinal), as well as all aspects of general ophthalmology. We see a very wide variety of pathology, and no two days are ever the same!

Responsibilities are as follows:

·         Preliminary patient work up
·         Ocular motility assessment
·         Diagnostic testing and imaging including:

– Biometry (Lenstar and immersion)
– Humphrey visual field
– OCT
– Corneal topography
– Anterior segment photography
– Angiography

·         Managing operating lists and IOL calculations

The successful applicant will possess strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  We require excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on team work.  The applicant must have a tertiary qualification in Orthoptics.  Experienced orthoptists or new graduates are welcome to apply.

Port Macquarie Eye Centre is a state of the art suite of consultation rooms, assessment rooms, procedure room and operating theatre.  Port Macquarie is a four hour drive or 45 minute flight north from Sydney.  The area enjoys a temperate climate and a beautiful coast line.

A contribution to relocation costs could be negotiated for the correct applicant.
