THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Development Manager to join our J&J Vision Care team based in Melbourne covering the Victoria territory.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager you’ll have the opportunity to work across our full suite of products within the Vision Care range, bringing the ACUVUE® brands to life with Eye Care Professionals and their teams.

In this role, you will play an instrumental role in driving sales performance by developing and maintaining trusted professional relationships with eyecare professionals throughout Victoria.  You will be part of a high performing team and overseeing a territory with a strong reputation and market share.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a product specialist; represent J&J Vision Care by interacting with existing customers and developing new prospects to gain their commitment on ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses and the Vision Care product portfolio
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with eyecare professionals (i.e. optometrists, orthoptists, practice owners) and their support team through calling on Optometry practices and ensuring their clinical and business requirements are being met by the company
  • Uncover customers’ strategic priorities, buying motives, end user needs, office processes, and business operations across segments while demonstrating the ability to gain order, product commitment and growth opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with your team, Sales Manager and support office colleagues to develop long-term sales strategies for the territory and maximize success
  • Manage data to develop strategic territory plans that showcase your ability to take ownership of your territory and write your own success
    Conduct regular CRM maintenance (salesforce.com), revenue/diagnostic inventory management, manage orders, returns & exchanges and enquiries
  • Liaise with key professional organizations and be a champion for customer service and patient care

 

ITS ALL ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Orthoptics, Optometry, Health Sciences, Business, or related disciplines
  • Optometry or Ophthalmology experience is highly desirable
  • Prior commercial experience with a clinical background is advantageous; strong understanding of the sales cycle and demonstrated experience of building strong customer relationships
  • Ability to influence with strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • A clear, creative, and accountable nature; striving to be successful with a positive mindset
  • Collaborative, organized and take pride in making a difference
  • Able to travel as needed (10% to 15%) with a valid driver’s license
