Senior Orthoptist (Team Leader)

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this position will be responsible for:

The daily running of the orthoptic/clinical area
Leading and supervising a team of experienced orthoptists by mentoring and coaching
Effective and efficient roster management against budget
Working closely with the doctors to provide strategic appointment planning and scheduling
Ensuring clinical quality assurance policies and procedures are followed at the highest level
Responsible for the coordination of timely audits and education schedule
Preparation and submission of monthly activity reports along with analytical and statistical patient data as required
Providing Ophthalmic and medical history/Orthoptic assessment
Arrange in-house continuing education to ensure staff remain conversant in changing ophthalmic practices
What you must have to apply for this role:

Experience in a similar senior role with demonstrated team leadership skills
Excellent clinical skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Orthoptic/Optical qualification and current Australian Orthoptic Board registration
