ORTHOPTIST required MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY (Must be available for those days)

Temporary 1 year Maternity leave position but with strong likelihood to become permanent ongoing position for the right candidate.

Marrickville Eye Doctors is looking for a confident, professional Orthoptist to work as the sole orthoptist with a solo Ophthalmologist with expertise across Medical Retina, Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma, Uveitis and General Ophthalmology.

The role includes but is not limited to:
• Patient screening including history taking and performing orthoptic assessments (visual acuity, IOP measurement, strabismus assessments as needed etc.)
• Performing various diagnostic scans/tests/ imaging:
-Cirrus OCT 6000
-Fundus photography
-IOL Master 700 biometry
-Humphrey Visual Field
• Assisting with minor procedures:
-Intravitreal injections
-Chalazion incision and curettage
•Assisting the receptionist with administrative duties as needed, including taking phone calls, booking patient appointments, invoicing (training will be provided)
•Ordering new stock and supplies for the clinic

Both new graduates and experienced Orthoptists are encouraged to apply. Further training & supervision will be provided for new graduates by the current orthoptist.

Commencement date flexible for the right candidate, happy to start immediately or later but must be able to start by September at the latest given maternity leave position.
