Bayside Eye Specialists is a busy, well established and renovated practice with state of the art equipment located in Brighton East.

Eleven consulting ophthalmologists provide care for all sub specialities of Ophthalmology including cataract, glaucoma, cornea, medical and surgical retina, oculoplastics, strabismus, refractive and general ophthalmology

The practice is located close to public transport and free parking is available.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Orthoptist with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic to join us. Attention to detail, empathy and excellent interpersonal skills are central to success in this role.

Job Requirements:
To be a successful candidate for this role you will have:
• Tertiary qualification in Orthoptics as recognised by the Australian Orthoptic Association
• Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board
• Excellent communication skills
• Friendly, professional and reliable attributes

Duties will include:
• General Orthoptic assessment including visual acuity testing and refraction
• Tonometry (Goldman and Perkins)
• Perimetry (Humphrey visual fields)
• Biometry – Optical (IOL Master) and Ultrasound (Contact A-scan)
• Keratometry (Bausch and Lomb)
• Topography (Orbscan)
• Retinal photography (including fluorescein angiography)
• Set up and assistance for in room procedures (intravitreal injections/minor procedures/corneal cross linking)
• Optical Coherence Tomography
• Pachymetry
• Ocular motility assessments for adult and paediatric strabismus
• Administrative duties (auditing, IOL calculations, stock control, sterilisation of ophthalmic equipment)
