SMS Healthcare is looking for a Full Time / Part time Orthoptist to join our team at Sydney Eye Clinic.

The Role:

Exciting opportunities have become available for qualified Orthoptists and new graduates to join our Eye Clinic team based in the Northern Beaches and Darlinghurst. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with a team of 5 ophthalmologists in order to provide high level patient care and satisfaction. Our ophthalmologists specialise in a wide variety of ophthalmic areas such as Refractive (Advanced Surface Laser and lensectomy), cataract, Retinal/Vitreo-retinal, glaucoma, macula and general.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Orthoptic work-ups;
Refractions (automated phoropter & digital charts), VA, IOP checks (Goldmann and iCare tonometer)
OCT / OCT fluorescein angiography / fundus camera
Visual assessment and clinical history
Topography (orbscan/pentacam)
Ultrasound (A-Scan and immersion)
Humphrey Visual Fields
Wavefront aberrometer
Specular microscopy
Laser suitability screening
Assistance in procedures: intravitreal injections, chalazion removal, fluorescein angiography

 

Key requirements:

In order to be successful in this role, you must have a Master in Orthoptic. You will be a professional and enthusiastic individual wholeheartedly interested in patient care and satisfaction with time management, organisational and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to work independently as well as working as an essential member of a cohesive team.  You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
