Senior Orthoptist

An exciting opportunity exists for a full time orthoptist to join our busy ophthalmology practice located in Norwest.

Our team consists of 15 ophthalmologists, Practice Manager, orthoptists and reception staff and we are seeking an orthoptist to become a valued and important part of our friendly team.

The primary objective of this position is to provide support to our ophthalmologists and assist in the clinics running smoothly.

As you will be the first point of clinical contact for our patients you will possess a professional and caring attitude.

Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Clinical assessment of patients prior to them seeing the ophthalmologist. This includes taking patient medical and ocular history.
• Perform diagnostic testing including A-scans, Visual fields, OCT’s, FFA and fundus photography.
• Assist with minor procedures and intravitreal injections.
• Manage surgical lists.
• Stocking of rooms and sterilisation.
• Assist with administration duties as required.

• Have the ability to learn quickly and be adaptable.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Be able to multitask.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in orthoptics and ophthalmic assessment.
