Job Description

Eyemedics are leaders in the field of Ophthalmology and our focus is to provide world best practice in eye care management and excellence in service delivery.

We have an exciting opportunity for a professional, motivated, well-presented Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Assistant to join our Clinical team.  This role is a permanent full time position (76 hours per fortnight) working over our 3 sites.  The focus of this role is to provide efficient and streamlined clinical services to our patients and consultant surgeons at Eyemedics.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will be based within a friendly, supportive team environment, with everyone working together to put the patient at the centre of excellent clinical care.

We are a busy practice where  our staff are highly valued and work in  a positive environment where you can make a difference. As a member of the clinical team you will interact with and assist our Ophthalmologists, support patient needs and work as part of a dynamic team

 

Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Ophthalmic and medical history/Orthoptic assessment
Clinical assessment and perform investigations
Biometry and Corneal Topography
Cirrus OCT
FFA & ICG photography
HVF testing
Patient counselling
Primary assessment and triage of some referrals
Work with state of the art equipment

 

The successful applicant will be a positive, responsible, self-motivated person with excellent  clinical and interpersonal  skills. You thrive in challenging situations, with tight attention to detail and the capability to effectively manage your time throughout the work day. This is a diverse role and you will develop on going Ophthalmic clinical skills with all training provided on site.
