SMS Healthcare is looking for a Full Time Orthoptist to join our clinical team at our state-of-the-art Ophthalmology clinic Bondi Eye Doctors.

The successful candidate will enjoy a challenge and be passionate about providing excellent patient care and experience. They will be flexible and work as part of a team and will work closely with the Practice Manager and Ophthalmologists to ensure a cohesive and efficient environment for our patients and their families.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is imperative. The qualities we are seeking are someone who will bring a positive mindset, is motivated, a team player, has strong attention to detail, can demonstrate compassion and empathy and is focused on ongoing self-improvement.

About Bondi Eye Doctors

Bond Eye Doctors is a large and modern Ophthalmology practice is in the heart of Bondi Junction, within the Westfield Shopping Centre, with expansive views across Sydney harbour.

Conveniently located in Westfield Tower 1, there is staff parking available onsite and both the bus and train stations are a few minutes’ walk from the building. This practice is impeccably presented being custom built to suit the specialty offering. It is less than 2 years old and includes a dedicated laser suite and procedure room.

This is a rare opportunity to work in partnership with a team of seven highly experienced and sought after Ophthalmologists who are recognised leaders in their field across the following sub-specialties, cornea, cataract, refractive, retina, paediatrics, and ocular plastics.

• General patient assessment including: history taking, IOP measurements, subjective refraction
• Corneal Topography – Pentacam
• Visual Field Testing
• Cirrus OCT
• Retinal photography and fluorescein angiography
• Biometry: IOL- Master
• Applanation tonometry
• Paediatric vision assessment
• IOL calculations
• Orthoptic workups / Squint Assessment
• Biometry – IOL Master and Applanation
• Assisting with intravitreal injections
• Specular Microscopy
• Sterilisation of instruments
• Assisting with the general running of the clinic
• Assist in minor ops
• Keeping up to date with new techniques and developments
• Effectively communicate with patients about diagnosis and required treatments
• Post-op follow up care with patients as directed by Management
