About us:

Mosman Eye Centre has a rich history deeply intertwined with the Mosman and Lower North Shore Community. Our centre is backed by a team of experienced Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists & Optometrist specialising in various areas, including Corneal, Medical Retina, General Ophthalmology, Cataract, Refractive Surgery, and Oculoplastics, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.

An exciting opportunity have become available for a full time or part time (4 days per week) qualified Orthoptist or Optometrist to join our dedicated team at Mosman Eye Centre.  New Graduates are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will join us in striving to expand our clinics and be wholeheartedly interested in patient care and satisfaction whilst also assisting this company with its goal of providing Accessible and Affordable Health Care to the people of Australia.

Key attributes:

Degree qualified in Orthoptics or a related field
Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board
Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, visual function, and eye movement disorders
Experience in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests and measurements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Warm and enthusiastic personality with ability to effectively engage with patients
Outstanding customer service skills with a positive solution orientated attitude.
Ability to prioritise and manage your time within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use initiative and a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures as well as ability to work autonomously.
A strong work ethic and a team player.

Key tasks:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including: history taking, IOP measurements, subjective refraction
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for patients
Corneal Topography – Pentacam
Visual Field Testing
Cirrus OCT
Retinal photography and fluorescein angiography
Biometry: IOL- Master
Applanation tonometry
Paediatric vision assessment
IOL calculations and Laser programming.
Operate the Femtosecond and Excimer Lasers
Assisting with the general running of the clinic
Assist in minor surgical procedures
Keeping up to date with new techniques and developments
Effectively communicate with patients about diagnosis and required treatments
