About the Role

Insight Eye Surgery is looking for an Orthoptist / Ophthalmic Technician to join our team on a part time or casual basis.  This role is suitable for an ophthalmic technician, optometry graduate or someone in optometry retail keen to be involved in ophthalmology.

Previous experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry practice is not essential.  Candidates with experience in health care and a willingness to adapt and learn ophthalmic skills are welcome to apply.

Insight Eye Surgery is a growing practice in Noosa providing excellent, quality eye care in an environment where patients feel safe and cared for. We operate a modern ophthalmology practice with state-of-the-art imaging equipment and medical management software. We are friendly and take pride in our work.

 

Clinical responsibilities will include:

Performing preliminary eye exams and tests including use of imaging equipment: Visual Acuity, Dominance testing
Intraocular Pressure measurement
Optical coherence tomography (OCT), Humphrey Visual Field machine etc.
Consultation with the patient, performing measurements, screening tests, taking a medical history
Supporting the ophthalmologist with minor procedures
Work-up patients pre- and post surgery (including biometry, topography)
Supporting the surgeon with surgery preparation
