Orthoptist

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and professional Orthoptist to join the team at Southern Eye Centre Day Surgery. Servicing the Mornington Peninsula and beyond, our busy practice supports both the consulting and surgical needs of nine Ophthalmologists with specialties including general ophthalmology, refractive, glaucoma, retinal, corneal & oculoplastics.

You would be part of a highly skilled, close working team of Orthoptists, Nurses and Administration staff. An ability to work independently and cooperatively is crucial.

Duties would include (but not limited to):

·         Patient assessment

·         Use of diagnostic equipment – Sirius+, Zeiss IOL Master 700, iTrace, Heidelberg Spectralis OCT, Zeiss Visucam 500 (photography & angiography), Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field & Goldmann tonometry

·         Minor procedure assistance & set-up

·         IOL calculations & orthoptic administration tasks

Prior abilities in these areas would be beneficial, although training & support is available. Professional indemnity insurance and vaccinations (COVID-19 & Influenza) required.

The centre is open Monday-Friday, no weekend work.

Southern Eye Centre Day Surgery is located in Frankston with easy access to Monash, EastLink & Peninsula Link freeways.
