Orthoptist

Epping Eye Surgery is currently looking for a part time Orthoptist who is happy to join our energetic team. We are a paediatric and general practice consisting of 5 ophthalmologist and 3 Orthoptists.

The clinic offers a wide range of sub specialty including Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Squint Surgery, neuro-ophthalmology. Cataract, Diabetic Eye Disease, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and General Ophthalmology.

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of ophthalmic services provided to adults and children.

Duties include:

–          Screening of vision

–          Paediatric and Strabismus Assessment

–          Ocular Motility assessments

–          Humphrey Visual Fields

–          OCT

–          Fluorescein angiography

–          Biometry A-scans (including contact and optical)

–          Refractions

–          Pachymetry and tonography

–          Corneal mapping/ topography

–          Assisting with intravitreal injections and minor surgery and post-operative care.

–          Provide general administrative if needed.

Applicants will need to have completed B. App. Sc (orthoptics)/Master of Orthoptics or equivalent.

The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work efficiently as part of a fast-paced team and be comfortable working under pressure and must be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The practice is located near public transport and has on-site parking.

New graduates are welcome to apply as further education and training will be provided if required.
